LUNA Academy, a Philippines-focused online education platform developed by DITO CME and CloudSwyft, partners with the local government of Cauayan, Isabela to digitally upskill its citizens through providing affordable and convenient skills training and world-class online certifications, linking them to better career opportunities.

“LUNA Academy is addressing the needs of the times by providing a venue to upgrade and enhance skills despite being stuck at home during the quarantine. This is also very much aligned with our city’s vision to be smart and sustainable, and also answers to the UN Sustainable Development Goals of providing quality education and decent work and economic growth,” said Mayor Bernard Faustino Dy of Cauayan City, Isabela during the recently held virtual signing ceremony.

“Enhancing skills will lead to more jobs and better opportunities for our citizens. We want to act swiftly and ride on the transitioning digital economy, and we are excited to get the ball rolling for our people,” added Dy.
LUNA Academy will deliver various learning programs, certifications and diplomas from the world’s leading industry partners such as Microsoft and Alibaba Cloud, alongside the most prestigious local universities, educational institutions, and organizations to the city’s constituents, bringing access to global education and potentially linking successful learners to exciting internship and employment opportunities.

“Our partnership with Cauayan City, Isabela takes us a step closer to our vision of empowering all Filipinos with the future-ready skills and credentials necessary to thrive in the twenty-first century economy. We are excited to expand our partnership with other local government units and educational stakeholders to open new doors of learning and digital upskilling for our countrymen,” shared Donald Lim, Chief Operating Officer of DITO CME.

In a previous statement, Cloudswyft Founder and CEO Dann Angelo De Guzman emphasized that with many Filipinos displaced from full-time employment or uncertain about the long-term prospects for their current careers, LUNA Academy provides fair access for local learners from all backgrounds to exciting new career opportunities, promotions and pay rises.

“We believe an online platform like LUNA Academy provides equal access not just to those in big cities or to those with the financial capacity to take a career break and study full time. The platform makes digital upskilling available and affordable to most Filipinos, and this is the best way for us to help deliver a more positive future for all,” De Guzman added.
